As I Tango

Ok, I'll admit it - I'm a geek. Haha. Well, I love writing poems, and what inspired me to write As I Tango is the Word of the Day from dictionary.com. The word of the day that day was 'lissome' which meant 'flexible' or 'limber'. Yeah.

So here it is!

Gliding gracefully,
ever so gracefully,
I twirl and tumble and soar.
I am lissome, I am limber,
as I tango on the floor.

Freely flying,
oh, she’s floating,
as I whirl her through the air.
I am lissome, I am nimble,
as we tango with great care.

She smiles
her beautiful smile
through the judges’ stare.
I am lissome, I am quick
as we tango to Fanfare.

Suddenly, it’s
all over.
She smiles in delight.
I am lissome, I am ready
as we tango through the night.
